Flora and Fauna Series
The popular Flora and Fauna stamp series is fun to own – the stamps picture animals, flowers, birds, fruit and more from across our great nation. Plus the stamps come in an array of varieties, so it’s interesting to identify each one and add it to your album.



U.S. #2476-78 are lithographed stamps, printed in panes of 100. U.S. #2477 is perforated 11.2 while the others are perforated 11.



The 19¢ Fawn and 30¢ Cardinal photogravure stamps were printed in panes of 100 and perferforated 11. The 45¢ Pumpkinseed Sunfish was lithographed and engraved in panes of 100 and perforated 11.

The USPS officials hoped that the increased size and the use of large, bold denomination symbols would make it easier for postal workers to distinguish between dollar-value stamps and 1¢, 2¢, and 5¢ stamps. The painting of a bobcat stretched out on a log was done by wildlife artist Chuck Ripper, who also designed the 50-stamp American Wildlife pane.



The 1995 20¢ Blue Jay (US #2483) booklet stamp was produced by photogravure and perforated 10.9 x 9.8 on two or three sides. The Wood Duck stamp with black printing that was perforated 10 on two or three sides is US #2484. The Wood Duck stamp with red printing that was perforated 11 on two or three sides is US #2485.



The 29¢ African Violets stamp (US #2486) is perforated 10 x 11 on two or three sides. US #2487, the 32¢ Peaches booklet stamp, is perforated 11 x 10 on two or three sides and features a small “1995.” The Pear stamp, also perforated 11 x 10 on two or three sides and bearing a small “1995,” is US #2488.



The 29¢ Red Squirrel, 29¢ Red Rose and 29¢ Pine Cone are self-adhesive die cut booklet stamps, US #2489-91.



US #2492 is the 32¢ Pink Rose self-adhesive booklet stamp with serpentine die cut measuring 11.3 x 11.7 on 2-4 sides. US #2493-94 are the 32¢ Peaches and 32¢ Pear stamps with serpentine die cut 8.8 on 2-4 sides and large “1995.” US #2495 and #2495A are self-adhesive coil stamps, serpentine die cut 8.8 vertically, featuring the Peaches and Pear design.



US #3031 is the 1¢ American Kestrel self-adhesive stamp imprinted “1999” in black ink with serpentine die cut 10.5. US #3031 is the 1¢ American Kestrel self-adhesive stamp imprinted “2000” in blue ink with serpentine die cut 11.25. The 2¢ Red-headed Woodpecker stamp – US #3032 – is perforated 11.



The 1996 Eastern Bluebird stamp’s denomination is expressed as “3¢,” while the 1991 variety featured “03.” US #3036 is the $1 Red Fox self-adhesive stamp with serpentine die cut 11.5 x 11.25. US #3044 is a coil stamp, perforated 9.75 vertically, featuring the familiar American Kestrel design and the year “1996.”



US #3045 is the 2¢ Red-headed Woodpecker coil stamp, perforated 9.75 vertically. The 20¢ Blue Jay (US #3048) is a booklet stamp imprinted “1996.” US #3049 is the self-adhesive 32¢ Yellow Rose booklet stamp.



US #3050 is the 20¢ Ring-necked Pheasant booklet stamp, serpentine die cut 11.2 on 3 sides. Its look-alike is US #3051, which is serpentine die cut 10.5 x 11 on three sides. The 33¢ Coral Pink Rose booklet stamp imprinted “1999” is US #3052.



US #3052E features the Coral Pink rose design on a booklet stamp and “2000” imprint. The stamp has serpentine die cut 10.75 x 10.5 on two or three sides. US #3053 pictures the Blue Jay design on a self-adhesive coil stamp, serpentine die cut 11.5 vertically. US #3054 is the self-adhesive 32¢ Yellow Rose coil stamp, serpentine die cut 9.75 vertically.



US #3055 pictures the Ring-necked Pheasant on a self-adhesive coil stamp, serpentine die cut 9.75 vertically. U.S. #3294-95 are the 33¢ Blueberries and Raspberries booklet stamps, serpentine die cut 11.25 x 11.5 on 2-4 sides.



US #3296-97 are the 33¢ Strawberries and Blackberries booklet stamps, serpentine die cut 11.25 x 11.5 on 2-4 sides. US #3298 features the Blueberries design again, but on a booklet stamp, serpentine die cut 9.5 x 10 on 2-3 sides.



US #3299-3301 feature the Strawberries, Raspberries and Blackberries designs again, but on booklet stamps, serpentine die cut 9.5 x 10 on 2-3 sides.



US #3302-04 picture fruit designs again, but on coil stamps, serpentine die cut 8.5 vertically.



US #3305 pictures the Strawberries design on a coil stamp, serpentine die cut 8.5 vertically. US #3404-05 feature the Blueberries and Strawberries designs on coil stamps, serpentine die cut 8.5 horizontally.



US #3406-07 feature the Blackberries and Raspberries designs on coil stamps, serpentine die cut 8.5 horizontally. A new 34¢ Apple stamp (US #3491) was introduced in 2001. It was paired with the 34¢ Orange stamp as a se-tenant in a convertible booklet



US #3492 was paired with the 34¢ Apple stamp as a se-tenant in convertible booklet format. The designs were later featured in a vending booklet, US #3493-94.
