Identification Guide to Farley’s Follies Stamps
It can be a bit of a challenge to understand the small differences between Farley’s Follies stamps. That’s why we’ve put together this handy identification guide, so you know exactly what to expect from the different varieties.
This list of Scott numbers include stamps that were pre-cut to souvenir sheet size before being distributed to the public. These souvenir sheets generally have even margins on all sides:
US #730 & #731 | Measures 134 x 120 mm (Cut to a standard size, leaving 4 even margins.) |
US #735 | Measures 87 x 93 mm |
US #750 | Measures 98 x 93 mm |
US #751 | Measures 92 x 99 mm |
This list of Scott numbers was distributed to the public in uncut sheets of multiple souvenir sheets, so the size of the sheets will vary. These souvenir sheets generally have uneven margins as most were cut by hand after distribution to post offices.
US #766 | Same design as #730, but does NOT measure 134 x 120 mm |
US #767 | Same design as #731, but does NOT measure 134 x 120 mm |
US #768 | Same design as #735, but does NOT measure 87 x 93 mm |
US #769 | Same design as #751, but does NOT measure 92 x 99 mm |
US #770 | Same design as #750, but does NOT measure 98 x 93 mm |
****Please Note: These souvenir sheets were originally issued without gum, but many were later returned to the postal service to be gummed. This gum did not change the value of the souvenir sheet, so Mystic does not distinguish between gummed and ungummed versions.****
